what is the difference between linux web hosting and windows web hosting?

hi iam rohit

Chosen Answer:

Aside from the OS used is different, both system sport a different tools and scripting languages used.

The million-dollar question is what application are you looking to use for your hosting? Consider the tools and scripting languages you plan to use – if you use PHP, Perl or MySQL, Linux is the way forward. If apps are Microsoft-specific ,eg. ASP, ASP.NET, ODBC, MS Access & MSSQL Databases, then Windows is what you need.

But in terms of stability, Linux is still the best bet.
